Who Is this for

This program serves adolescents with alternatives when experiencing school avoidance,truancy, academic underachievement and suspensions. Students who have experiencedtrauma, mental health challenges, substance use challenges, bullying at school, or other eventsthat have made school feel like a place they cannot be successful can benefit from supportnavigating creating change.

Overview

This program offers adolescents constructive alternatives during challenging times, such as school avoidance, truancy, academic struggles, and suspensions. By providing structured support and guidance, it helps them stay engaged in their education, build confidence, and develop the skills needed for long-term success. For parents, this means a proactive solution that fosters resilience, accountability and return to school on Wednesdays/Fridays with a goal of eventually attending school full time.

Objective

Create a structured and nurturing environment where participants receive therapeutic interventions, academic support, and skill-building opportunities to foster emotional resilience and personal growth. Through evidence-based treatment approaches, collaborative care, and a strengths-based framework, we aim to empower youth to develop healthy coping mechanisms, enhance their social and emotional well-being, and successfully reintegrate into their communities with confidence and stability.

Approach

Our individualized Therapeutic Day Treatment program involves collaborating with school administration, teachers and faculty to create a plan to reintegrate students successfully after developing the skills to navigate their unique challenges. Day treatment includes one-on-one academic support, individual therapy, group therapy, healthy prosocial activities and adventure-based therapy.

  • IOP: Tailored to the individual’s needs.
  • Family Therapy for TDT: Family involvement is an essential part of the program. Families are expected to engage in weekly family and/or parent sessions. Depending on the family's needs, These sessions can occur at home or in the office.
  • Medication Management with APRN: Our program includes meetings with our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to assess whether medication may benefit your child, while also coordinating care and helping connect with providers if needed.
