Client Populations: For adolescent clients with both mental health & substance use disorders ages 14-17 (18 if in high school). Schedule: 4 days a week; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday after-school.
Intake: Clients are screened for program appropriateness. An intake assessment is required as a precursor to acceptance into the program. Once accepted into the program, all clients meet with program staff to develop individualized treatment plans. Contact Sarah Fetras, IOP Director or 603.474.3332 ext. 103 to set up an intake.
Group: Each group session focuses on a specific topic related to understanding and managing substance use disorders and mental health issues. Sessions are psychoeducational, and structured, with a strong focus on mindfulness, experiential learning, and strength-based interventions. Learning models included are auditory, visual, and hands-on components. Adventure-based activities occur on Thursdays. Drug testing is an essential part of the program. Episodes of use do not necessarily mean discharge from the program, but it does mean processing and evaluation of safety issues for each teen.
Medication Management: A Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is on our staff to assist clients with medication management and evaluation.
Family Support: Family involvement is an essential part of the program. Families are expected to participate in a weekly parent/guardian support group with our family therapist and other staff at the program. This support group meets on Wednesdays via zoom at 5:30 PM. In addition to this, it may be recommended that the family engage in weekly therapy with one of our family therapists to further support and create change within the family.
